There are many areas that we would love you to get involved in, within the life of the church. If you would like to find out more speak to one of the churchwardens, who will have an idea of what is needed and be happy to chat about opportunities to get involved within the church life.

HELP NEEDED FOR THIRD SUNDAY LUNCHES
Yvonne Collette has been helping Pat Smith with lunches on the third Sunday of the month for the past ten years, but now, due to family circumstances, can no longer commit her time.
Lots of people already help with peeling vegetables, making delicious puddings, setting up and clearing away. In addition to this, we want to create a rota so that Pat will be guaranteed that there will be one person to assist her in the kitchen, willing to be at the church at 9am, until everything is cleared away. There are ten lunches and one barbecue a year. Peter Corbett has organised and run the barbecue in the past and hopefully will still be able to do so, which means if we could get five people willing to be on a rota, it would mean being ‘on duty’ only twice a year.
Please consider helping so that we can continue to provide this worthwhile and highly valued service for our congregations and community.
Please email email@example.com or phone 01923 261076 if you think you can help. We have two volunteers so far, we need three more to keep going.
CHIPPERFIELD VILLAGE DAY - SATURDAY 14th JULY
This year there will be a Village Day in Chipperfield, which has been planned by a group of villagers, and St. Paul’s is planning to ‘to do its bit’.
On Saturday 14th, the Common will be open from 11am-6.30pm, followed by night-time music at Theravet (just off the Common on the left-hand side).
St. Paul’s church will be open from 10.30-4.30pm on the day and we have engaged organists who will be playing throughout the day.
We are also planning to have some flower arrangements on display (note, this is not a full festival), but if you can help, please contact Jenny Laurie or Philip Waine (details below).
There will not be a tea tent on the Common, so this is a great opportunity to serve fund-raising teas and coffees in the parish room for the afternoon.
Can you volunteer to make cakes and/or serve teas and coffees, from late morning until the afternoon? Ideally, we want to organise a rota for this.
We are also looking for paramedics or first aiders on the day. If anybody can help with this or other duties on the day, please contact Philip Waine on
Benefice of Sarratt and Chipperfield
St Paul’s Church, Chipperfield WD4 9BS
seeks a gifted and inspirational musician,
someone with a passion for God, music and worship,
to serve as
Director of Music
The successful candidate would enhance the worshipping life and outreach of a community accustomed to a high standard of traditional music. However we have a wide spectrum of worship needs so the director would also be willing to explore informal/contemporary music styles.
The organ is a fine three–manual pipe organ in excellent order, by TH Lewis; so ability to play the organ to a high standard would be an advantage.
Responsibilities include choir rehearsal, playing at Sunday services (currently twice per month), on holy days and festivals, and at Occasional Services.
The ability to work collaboratively with the Rector, service leaders and choir is essential.
The position is available immediately with the offer of a one year renewable, part time contract. Remuneration is comparable to RSCM salary rates. There would be the opportunity to arrange recitals and concerts plus fees from occasional weddings and funerals.
