Occasional Services
There are a number of Services for special occasions, which are held annually.
The Morris Men's Service
In mid-July each year the Greensleeves Morris Men visit the village with their guest Groups. For over 50 years on the Sunday morning we have held a service on the car park adjacent to the church for them and us. It is a joyous open-air occasion with music provided by the Morris Men and morris dancing afterwards.
Taizé Service to Remember Those We Love but See no More
On the Sunday evening nearest to All Souls' Day at the beginning of November we hold a contemplative candlelit service for those who have lost people they have loved. It is a time to worship the God who cares for those who have joined Him in heaven as much as He does us. There is an opportunity to light a candle in memory of the loved one.
Remembrance Sunday.
In common with many churches throughout the country we hold a service on the morning of Remembrance Sunday. It starts at the War Memorial across the common from Church just before 11 a.m. and after the Act of Remembrance moves to Church, where the roll call of all those villagers who have died in the two World Wars is read.
